Our name refers to a place. A 19th century maison de maître situated in verdant farmland in the oxbow (the place where the river 'circles' back on itself) of the Thouet River in the small village of Misse on the Southern edge of the Loire Valley in France. Thus, the 'Circle of Misse'

Over the years, we've added other fabulous properties in the Loire and even our favourite spot on the Andalusian Coast in Spain to the mix. But no matter where we are the magic we've created at the main Misse House follows us. It's come to mean more than just a place. It's a state of mind. A way of taking care of people; showing them a good time and helping them learn something new. Inspiring settings, lots of creature comforts, delicious local food prepared with love and skill, top- notch teaching from professionals, in a warm friendly fun environment. That’s why over 80% or our guests return year after year.

Loire Valley, France

Most activities at Circle of Misse in the Loire Valley occur at the Misse "Maison de maître" described above. It has five fully renovated gorgeous ensuite rooms with comfortable double beds, wardrobes and writing desks. Some weeks we may also use our sister property, minutes upriver from us, called River House for accomodation. It is a fabulous 18th century rustic stone house with immaculate gardens overlooking the Thouet River. Both properties have relaxing and inspiring spaces for hanging out, kitted with lots of creature comforts. We also provide always available drinks and snacks.

We offer excursions during the week to chateaus, farmer’s markets and sometimes vineyards, oil presses and other artisanal food creators depending on the season.

Due to the nature of how we schedule courses and retreats, we regret that we cannot take requests for particular properties or rooms.

Andalusia, Spain

During winter and early spring while the farmers hibernate and the winemakers travel to sell their wine, we head south to the Andalusian Coast in Spain. Our base is San Juan de los Terreros, a small sleepy resort with beautiful beaches.

Located next to the beach, with a stunning backdrop of mountains, San Juan is laid back and chilled out. There are lots of little coves to explore and a castle with wonderful views. Places abound to write on the beach, set up on the promenade, or tap on your laptop in one of the local beachside cafes. There are some little shops a ten minute walk away. Some days we also offer optional excursions to interesting nearby places in the early evening.

You will have your own room with a comfy bed, writing desk and wardrobe. There are also opportunities to write in the lounge/library, and outside on one of two terraces and down at the beach.

Spain Free Pick-Up/Drop-Off
