Just what it says on the tin. Come enjoy a long weekend in a French country house, eating fantastic food, enjoying great wines and soaking up the peaceful country vibe. Sleep in, read a book (we have a library brimming full of great reads), go for long walks, or simply sit in the garden with a cool drink and wile away the hours. And if you do find you’d like some distraction, we’ll happily provide a cooking demonstration, wine tasting, and a Sunday morning trip to one of our picturesque nearby towns where you can enjoy a coffee and croissant and saunter like a local through the monthly Marche de Puce (Flea Market) admiring gorgeous antiques and memorabilia. Escape the daily grind and leave refreshed and inspired.

It’s the book club you always wished someone would ask you to join. Consider this your invitation. A good book, a roaring fire (inside or out, depending on the season), a nice glass of wine, fantastic food and stimulating conversation—this is the weekend past visitors begged us to offer. We obliged; it was a blast and now we want to offer it to everyone. We’ll mix guided discussions of two or three books and excerpts from others with time to chill out, go on long walks or simply gaze at the countryside. This is book lover’s heaven. We’ll have a lot of fun with our literary pursuits, drawing on our expertise as a centre for creative writing, we’ll visit local sites associated with Balzac and Rabelais as well as some Loire settings that feature in novels. We’ll certainly exchange reading lists before you depart. This weekend experience runs Friday to Monday only (three nights). Please drop us an email if you want to know more.

Festive Season Weekends
As the days lengthen, the weather grows cooler and shopping malls grow crazier, we offer you the chance to get away from it all, cozy up next to our fire and celebrate the holidays early; all while picking up some great new recipes and ideas for your own celebrations back at home. These weekends include cookery demonstrations and hands-on preparation of some stunning holiday dishes, as well as wine tasting and pairing ideas. We’ll also create some brilliant decorations and table settings together. Your home for the holidays!
